I work in a way which is client centred,
valuing the clients' lead in exploring whatever is present and relevant for them at the time.

Therapy is designed for each client’s unique needs using a collaborative approach where the client maintains control of the process at all times.

Psychotherapy
Personalised embodied practices.

I bridge talk therapy with personalized embodied practices such as mindfulness, breathing, somatic tracking and experiential embodiment through the use of an integrative, body-inclusive psychotherapy model.

This is only ever done at the client’s pace and in a way that resonates for them.  I essentially become a guide in their process and on their unique journey.

I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities.

This includes mindfulness, psychoeducation, somatic psychotherapy (Hakomi), as well as a psychodynamic interpersonal model (Conversational model).  I can also offer EMDR if appropriate.  In addition, I draw on a range of other techniques and skills acquired on my continuing learning journey.

My Approach

My style of therapy is gentle, non-intrusive, and grounded in respect for whatever may be seeking attention in the present moment. I offer a welcoming and compassionate space where all aspects of your experience are honoured—whether clear or uncertain, spoken or still forming.

I’ve graduated from the Hakomi Mindfulness-Based Somatic Psychotherapy training, a deeply respectful, body-centered approach that integrates mindfulness with the wisdom of the body. I graduated from the Hakomi Institute and went on to assist in trainings during 2022 and 2023—an experience that deepened my appreciation for the power and beauty of this work.

I’m also trained in the Conversational Model of Psychotherapy, a relational, depth-focused approach developed through Westmead University of Sydney. Like Hakomi, it’s client-centered and fosters a strong therapeutic alliance, creating the foundation for lasting change. These two models complement each other beautifully and form the heart of my practice—blending theoretical rigour with presence, empathy, and experiential work.

More recently, I’ve begun incorporating EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) into my sessions. EMDR is a well-researched, structured model that supports the processing of trauma and distressing experiences. It integrates well with the somatic and narrative elements of my work and can be a powerful tool for healing when appropriate.

I’m based in Marton which is a small community about half an hour from Whanganui and roughly 40 minutes from Palmerston North in the North Island.  Though I’m now based in the Taranaki – Manawatu region, I work with clients across the entirety of Aotearoa New Zealand via secure online sessions. Whether we’re working together in person or through Telehealth, I bring the same depth, care, and intention to our work.

It’s an absolute privilege to walk alongside people as they explore who they are, what matters to them, and how they want to live.

My hope is to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the lives of those who reach out.
